Filmfare fashion: The beauty and the beasts
Anyway, those present were entertainment enough! Read on to know who wore it best and those who got it all wrong!

Spotting the single-shoulders
So many beautiful women were spotted wearing single-shoulder gowns. Most looked uber sophisticated and some got it horribly wrong.

The winners
Let's begin with Akki's lucky charm - Katrina Kaif. The gown fits her curvaceous bode perfectly and she's definitely working out to keep it deadly! Check out her covetous collar bone and delicious derriere.
The ever-fashionable Gauri Khan donned a lovely red Grecian gown which draped very similar to a sari.
Deepika Padukone, the 'model actor', puts her best foot forward in a sexy slit single-shouldered black number.
If you had to pick one of these looks, will you opt for - Katrina's gown to accentuate your curves, Gauri's to hide any flabs or Deepika's that'll transcend a boring black gown to diva status?

The tacky losers
Then there were some who had no clue about single-shoulders, gown, colour, style, fashion, whatever! Take a look at Amrita Rao's yellow disaster and worse still Minnisha Lamba's piercing pink.

Bold and strapless
Few fashionistas ditched the straps altogether and wore flowing strapless gowns. Bipasha Basu, Kangana Ranaut and surprise, surprise Sherlyn Chopra (the super pumped up cleavage doesn't surprise).
Bipasha got it right, thanks to her toned body, Kangana was almost there but the make-up made her look too plastic but the embellishment on Sherlyn's gown reminds us of a half baked X-ray!
Don't you agree with us?

The divas from Dev D
Kalki Koechlin and Mahi Gill, each won an award at Filmfare for Dev D. Kalki for 'Best Supporting Actor - Female' and Mahi for 'Best Actor - Female (Critics)'. But if you had to give an award for the best dressing sense, who would you choose?
We think, Kalki wins hands down for looking pretty in a white sari, and Mahi is bizarre bling personified in the brown-black (yin-yang) single-shouldered gown.

The beauty and the beast
That's Lara Dutta (aka beauty) and Jacqueline Fernandes (read beast) for you. Although Lara's gown is strewn with monstrous floral prints, she looks beautiful (maybe the secret is Mahesh Bhupathi).
Jacqueline Fernandes, on the other hand, flaunts something that suspiciously looks like laminated panther skin and seems pleased as punch! Beware, this beast is on the prowl.

Is that LV or a toffee wrapper?
What is Genelia D'Souza wearing??? What a downer since her last year's Filmfare look in a sophisticated black gown (see pic, extreme right). Maybe she decided to be more adventurous and wore a Louis Vuitton dress just like Madonna's.
Somebody please tell her that she isn't Madonna (or Lady Gaga), so that dress looks like a toffee wrapper instead of a LV!

Mug-shots and missing hems
If you want to learn how to pose like a criminal in red-lipstick and a red-carpet-worthy gown, learn from Gisele Monteiro. Methinks she didn't ask for help from those stylists who make her look gorgeous on fashion mag covers.
Shazahn Padamsee must have been running late for Filmfare and just grabbed this dress from her tailor (sorry, designer). What else can explain the outrageously uneven hemline of her dress?

Working on witch craft?
Zoya Akhtar led us to believe that she won Best Debut for Luck by Chance. Trust me that was a lie, it's actually black magic. Oh, you still don't believe me? Can't you see she is wearing the evil witch's robes?
Meet Witch Number Two: Shruthi Hassan. This one is even more clever! She didn't borrow the evil witch's robes but decided to play it safe in a nude number. But fails miserably! She wears a beige number dotted with black, outlined with a corset and layered with sheer black net, OMG shoe oozes a witchy aura!

The sari-clad ladies
There were too many woman wearing the sari, so we've divided them into:
What is she wearing?
The whole formula of wearing a sheer sari and bikini blouse is soooooo outdated!
But Sophie Chowdhary and Mugdha Godse don't think so. Atleast, Sophie got the make-up right, but Mugdha looks outright scary. A friend thinks she looks like a man with red-lipstick…hehe!
Perhaps, Udita Goswami took a few wearing-the-sari tips from Amisha Patel (no wonder she was missing). Please note, Udita's over-exposed midriff and come-hither look!

Truly Indian is never unfashionable
Therefore Rekha and her Kanjeevarams are always in style. She wears Kanjeevarams for every Filmfare and every other event and somehow it never gets boring. Shabana Azmi embodies sophistication and true class in a similar golden sari.

And the winner is Vidya Balan!
We never thought we'd say this, but sometimes staying true to your character helps. In Vidya's case, it's staying true to designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee who upped her style quotient a few thousand notches.
Guess what, it worked! Do you feel the same?
