Take that risk!

My mother once told me that when she was a little girl of 7, she would look forward to the street vendor who would come around to sell sweet fruit buns - not because she could eat some but so that she could catch a whiff of the aroma of hot and fresh buns. You see, she was born into a high class Brahmin family and in those days (1930's) no Brahmins ate buns! 65 years later when she could eat all the buns, cakes and pastries that you could find in a patisserie in Paris, she had no desire! Isn't life strange? Rather ironical?
But life is like that. Agreed, my mother and millions of women had no freedom of choice at that time. Very few, maybe a handful of women took the risk to defy. Don't be surprised if you know that even today freedom of choice is not available in many countries including India. Many a time decisions are made for you and like a lamb being led to the slaughter house, one follows it.
We have come a long way since then and thankfully, many of us have the freedom to choose now. To choose our education, career, lifestyle, partner, present, future and so on. Saying 'just do it' would be incorrect. Saying choose wisely and do it well - even if it means that you need to take a risk - would go down well. Risk and change are constant in life and you need to embrace either or both of this if you want to be successful in life, love, work and money.

Be willing to receive support and feedback. Some situations may intimidate you and confuse your decision making. Communicate your fears or apprehensions with people you trust, you love. Nowadays there are support groups, both online and personal.

Take the initiative. If you don't try you won't know. Imagine and visualise the outcome. How would you feel if you achieved what you desired? There may be success stories that inspire you, role models who impress you. What risks did they take? How did they handle pitfalls?
"To hope is to risk despair" - J RAND
Let the reason for your choice be 'hope to succeed'. Keep the faith, throw out the fear. Be sincere, committed and give it your best so that on the ship called success you are on the starboard side. Highest mountains have been scaled and deepest seas have been navigated, not without hoping to succeed.
"To expose your feeling is to risk exposing your true self" - J RAND
Be enthusiastic and energetic about whatever you want to do. More importantly enjoy what you do and do what you enjoy. Keep yourself engaged in thoughts and activities that will lead you towards your achievement.
Success is all about having the courage to take risks. TAKE THAT RISK and reap the rewards!
