Tribals have invaded the city in feathers, plumes, and wild colours - that's Little Shilpa's accessories collection for you. Titled 'Life in techni - colour', Shilpa was inspired by the city and tribals for this collection of head accessories, belts, neckpieces, and there were certain interesting pieces for effect like the plastic protruding lips covering each model's mouth.
Shilpa has never failed to surprise with her OTT creativity and this time around, it wasn't any different. Models sashayed down the ramp in oversized head accessories with feathers and acrylic in multicolour. Shilpa corrects us, 'It's not acrylic, it is perspex.'

Perspex [a transparent acrylic resin] in different colours - green, blue, yellow, orange, and red - offered a very neonish effect to multi-layered visors. Sheets of perspex were cut to form sky scrapers worn as head accessories, round shapes of perspex in different colours were placed together for belt buckles and a similar technique was used for neckpieces.

The other element that was widely used for Shilpa's creative design compositions were feathers in all shapes, sizes and patterns. Perhaps this is Shilpa's way of portraying eco-consciousness which is the ruling trend of the moment!

Please note that this was the only accessories showcasing on Day 2 although they have a separate show dedicated to only accessories on the last day at Lakme Fashion Week. Once again this is one of those 'first' at LFW' and kudos to Shilpa for bagging her very own show!

Meanwhile… Vivek fear's "wardrobe malfunction"

A supposedly "nervous" Vivek Oberoi walked the ramp for designer Digvijay Singh sporting a organic crème kurta-pajama.
"I didn't have butterflies in my stomach, it was much more than that. I was very very nervous as I have never walked on the ramp for a bigger platform like this. I have always heard about mal-functions on the runway, I was just hoping that I don't make news for another malfunction," Vivek told IANS.

His younger sister Meghna Oberoi, mother Yashodhara and politician Sanjay Nirupam cheered him on.

Did you like Little Shilpa's zany accesories? What do you think of Vivek's look on the ramp? Leave us a comment and let us know.
