Vidya Balan in a Rs 650 sari!

Vidya Balan in a Rs 650 sari!

VidyaBalan.jpg

When the week is all about fashion at its best, bringing on the glam quotient and just oozing style, Vidya Balan decided to attend designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee's show wearing a Bengali handloom cotton sari worth (hold your breath) Rs 650 teamed with a Louis Vuitton clutch for crying out loud! What did Sabya think of it? He says, and I quote, "That is true style!" Well, we definitely agree with you Sabya (especially if that style is behenji!)

Wedding cake on the run!

We're not sure what Shenaz Treasurywala was thinking when she picked this gaudy pink monstrosity. It's a cross between sandwich board woman and ugly, giant wedding cake on loose! And those slippers? Ouch! Think Shenaz needs to take that long overdue shopping spree. What say?

Manimal

Keeping the Lakme Fashion Week theme - Summer/ Resort 2010 - in mind, we think Raageshwari's tie-up shirt and sunglasses look perfect. But the whole half-women-half-animal thing she has going on is a complete disaster. Seems like the singer couldn't get enough of her trip to the Amazon :) Raageshwari, don't you think it's time your leopard friend went back to the rain forest? He doesn't look to comfortable at Fashion Week :(

Black magic

Celina Jaitley was there to unveil the colour of the season by Color Splash at the Lakme Studio. Well, with the outrageous avatar, the actress definitely grabbed eyeballs. A plunging neckline, unflattering flowy black pants and a sad attempt at a come-hither look, Celina looked nothing short of a vamp!

Bhagyashree also went the all-black way and practically merged into the black backdrop. While we like her choice of shoes, the whole get up was drab. Would someone please tell Bhagyashree that matching is NOT in style! She needs a pop of colour!

Eye sore galore

Off the ramp, we spotted Vidya Malvade in a multi-coloured, multi-printed flowy dress. And though we think the actress looked radiant the outfit did nothing for her. The print was jarring to our eyes and the bag, well… let's not get me started.

Aarti Chabria, on the other hand, also chose to wear a printed gown a la Pria Kataria Puri but carried it off with élan. Though I'm not a big fan of the outfit itself, Aarti looked stunning. She teamed the dress perfectly with gold peep-toes and a blingy clutch. Think Ms Malvade could take a cue.

Sari affair

I can't help noticing that Dipannita Sharma looks a whole lot older with this look but I must confess she still looks great in this sari. The model carries off the sari with so much poise, doing more for the sari than it does for her.

While food critic Rashmi Uday Singh picked a pretty sari too she decided to be adventurous with that big yellow rose. Arrgghhh!!! Never mind that. That bag she's carrying is a total mismatch but standalone it is quite a keeper, we think.

Feeling blue

That's how these three television stars left us. Here's what we think: Couple Apurva Agnihotri and Shilpa Saklani called up Rakshanda the night before to find what she was wearing. When she told them about the blue dress, well, Apurva and Shilpa just didn't want to feel left out.

Of course, Shilpa doesn't look too bad and we quite like Rakshanda's dress. But what's with the repulsive gold bag Rakshanda's carrying? As for Apurva… he just looks like a tag-along.
