The year was riddled with some embarrassing, and some very embarrassing moments for Bollywood and TVland's stars.

Here are some memorable moments:

Salman Khan, slapped

We're not sure who must have been more embarrassed - the slapper or the slappee - when this incident hit the headlines.

But, at a private party after a day at the fashion week in November, spoilt little drunk rich girl, a builder's daughter, SLAPPED Salman when she wasn't allowed in.

Witnesses claimed that she first hurled abuses at Sushmita Sen, and that when Salman gallantly stepped in to diffuse the situation, he was whacked for his efforts. That must have stung!

Deepika Padukone, tattooed

What with some good roles in the kitty and a hunky boyfriend who's Bollywood royalty, life was treating Deepika Padukone wonderfully. Until the royal boyfriend and she split that is. And it's right after that that one of the most embarrassing celeb moments of the year occurred.

This is what happened. Ms Padukone was to meet members of the press at the launch of a new skin care product, but instead of quizzing her on the brand, the press only wanted to know what she would do with the RK tattoo on her neck.

The final straw came when someone asked her if she was 'happy after your break-up with Ranbir', she said: "Of course, I am happy. Don't I look happy?" And then she huffed off.

Bakhtiyar Irani, the cry baby

Turns out, the biggest drama queen in the Bigg Boss house this season (season 3) was Bakhtiyar Irani.

For a grown man, actor Tanaaz Currim's other half has been seen crying too many times, over incidents that even women wouldn't cry over.

Did Mr Irani think acting like TVland's biggest cry baby would save him?

Anil Sharma, on the couch?

Veer director Anil Sharma was left red-faced when reports emerged that Salman Khan wanted to replace him with brother Sohail.

Don't know why? Other, earlier reports alleged the director who also gave us Gadar, made a very indecent proposal to an aspiring actress (sent by Salman) who was auditioning for a role in the film - Veer, not Gadar.

Sharma has since made it clear to Salman that the claims were false.

Rekha snubbed

70s star Rekha was probably left blushing (though we couldn't see it under all that make-up) when Amitabh Bachchan avoided greeting her during the Filmfare Awards earlier this year.

As Rekha came hugging and kissing Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan and various Bachchans down the line in the front row, Amitabh, with whom Rekha has been rumoured to have had an affair with, got up and walked off. Oh oh!

Akshay Kumar unbuttoned

Bollywood's top khiladi suffered some major embarrassment when an on-stage stunt went wrong. That he asked wife Twinkle Khanna to unbutton his jeans while walking the ramp for an international jeans brand in March this year, caused much furor; and Kumar and his wife found themselves booked for indecent, vulgar and obscene behaviour! Yikes!
