It's a new year with new beginnings and a brand new home too. Well, all you have to do now is keep that positive energy going and we have just the thing you need.

Take a look at these Feng Shui tips that will help you infuse your rented home with positive energy and settle in without any hiccups.

Get rid of clutter

When you're moving into a new apartment that has been lived in before, the first thing to do is to get rid of all the clutter that's left behind. Try and store as few things as possible in your loft. If you have too many old things you aren't discarding immediately, store them systematically in boxes with lids.

Kitchen care

The kitchen is an important area in Feng Shui and as long as this is kept clean and clutter-free, all your other areas will also reflect that positive energy. Do not leave any garbage or debris in the kitchen and make sure that you let in enough sunlight and air into the kitchen.

Keep it burning

The stove or burner should be kept in good shape and you need to ensure that it works well all the time. This is important because in Feng Shui, the stove is considered a symbol of wealth.

Light it up

Your house should be well lit all the time. During the day time, let in fresh air and sunlight and during the evenings, make sure that the apartment isn't dark. Light up dark corners in your home. It will enhance the flow of good energy.

Seal those drafts

If the apartment you've moved into has any kind of drafts, they need to be sealed as soon as possible, preferably before you move in. Open drafts make energy escape from your home.

Sharp corners, a no-no

You can't do much about the basic architecture of the apartment so, if there are any sharp corners you'll have to find ways to conceal them. Hang a drape or place a partition to conceal sharp corners.

Chime in!

Hang wind chimes or have a small water fountain at your main door, which does wonders to bring in good energy into your home.

So there you have it.Just keep these Feng Shui pointers in mind when you are giving your home an exciting makeover!
